The Norwegian Association of Sheep and Goat Farmers (NSG), founded in 1947, is the principal organization for sheep and goat farmers in Norway. We aim to be the farmers leading organization towards the grocery business, the food processing industry, the other agricultural organizations, Norwegian authorities, the politics and other actors in the social debate.

NSG originates, obtains financing and takes responsibility for a wide range of projects within the organizational topics. This also applies to obtaining new knowledge through research.

NSG obtains financing and takes responsibility for the wide national breeding programme on sheep and goat, which implies further development of artificial insemination.

Landscape affected by domestic animal grazing contains special qualities both visual and biological. To the grazing profession it is important that consciousness of these mechanisms is known and debated. It is a principal task for NSG to contribute in communicating this knowledge.
